Hey guys! Boy, do I have another pumpkin craft for you! This one is super simple and quick to make. This makes for a great Thanksgiving decor piece for your table or buffet, your bathroom or even your guest room! So let’s get started.
Here are the items you will need. You can download this list here.
The first thing I did was cut and stain my board that will serve as the frame for my pumpkin. You can buy a piece of wood at Hobby Lobby, Home Depot (and have them cut it for you), or you can even cut it yourself. The staining step is optional. You could also paint it or leave it the plain wood color. Whatever your preference, there is no right or wrong here.
I gathered 25 wine corks to use for the pumpkin. A few of my corks were from our wine bottles, but most of them I purchased from Hobby Lobby. If your corks aren’t about the same height I suggest trimming. An easy way to trim them is to boil them for about 10 minutes first, then they cut without making a mess.
Here I am cutting one down just a little so it is the same height as the others.
I centered my corks on the board and just started hot gluing them down in place. My pumpkin pattern is that I started with 4 corks on the bottom. For the next row, I used 5 – alternating them between the curves of the previous row. The third row I used 6 corks, then 5, and then 4 again to round out the pumpkin shape.
For the stem, I used a fatter cork and just trimmed a little off the back so it would sit flush against the board.
For the final touch, I cut out one of our pumpkin leaves we have designed for previous pumpkin crafts. I have included that download here, too. You can find it at the end of this post.
